The Crag, Cascade Resources Advocacy Group, Law Center was founded in the summer of 2001 with the primary purpose of building the capacity of so many other dedicated individuals and organizations striving to create positive change.

Our Board of Directors generously donate their time to help make The Crag Law Center a success. Currently, the Crag Law Center's staff includes three full-time attorneys licensed to practice law in state and federal courts of Oregon and Washington, and one full-time communications and outreach coordinator.

The Crag Law Center's lawyers are dedicated to providing clients with innovative and effective legal solutions in line with its educational and charitable mission. As the conservation community enters the 21st century, the local and regional groups that are fighting for effective change are facing a host of legal and organizational issues that require effective, professional and competent legal help.

Many of these groups are tackling sizable litigation challenges against well-heeled corporations who can afford to hire teams of attorneys or working, sometimes simultaneously, to ensure the integrity of our government process. Some groups are developing valuable intellectual property rights or implementing innovative programs to achieve their missions. In addition to helping existing organizations with issues ranging from litigation to commenting on rulemaking, the Crag Law Center is also helping community-based groups get formally organized and providing guidance to these groups on day-to-day operational issues, as well as outreach and education to their members and the general public. Crag's work is geared towards promoting fiscally-responsible environmental conservation and sustainable natural resource management by increasing the capacity of our clients to achieve their own missions.

Currently, The Crag Law Center's attorneys are admitted to the state and federal bars in both Oregon and Washington. The Crag Law Center is an Oregon non-profit corporation exempt from taxation pursuant to section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
